What we do
We support programs that provide real opportunities to people in Zambia, from feeding children to building classrooms to teaching women to make washable sanitary pads.
Our Story
We started as a simple attempt to help people, using money from a monthly coffee morning selling home baking in the south of Scotland. Now we want to help even more.

A great selection of food items all supporting a good cause.
Have you ever heard of the battle of Darnick? I hadn’t either, but it turns out that there was a battle on our doorstep, and this Saturday, 25th July is the 500th year anniversary.
This weekend there is a guided walk around the battle sites, and a display in the hall.
To mark this occasion, we are having our usual bake sale at coffee morning, but are extending it through until 4 pm, with a soup lunch.
Even more time to buy cakes eat scones and find out more about our local history!
We look forward to seeing you there … I will go and put the kettle on!

Finally made it to the coffee morning! Well worth the trip for the friendly faces And delicious scones. And stocked up on goodies for the rest of the week. Thanks for all you do for raising funds for such a worthy cause

These are the children living at Madalitso home orphanage. They have been busy weeding, planting and tending to their crops, and this is the result. Happy and rightly proud children showing off the fruits of their growing season.

When is your next coffee morning at Darnick
This is Agnes’ school that we visited last year. The school motto, is “Education is the key to a bright future”.
Agnes is a caring and committed headmistress. She has a quiet calm manner and she runs a well disciplined school. If you walk past the school when lessons are in progress there is complete silence and concentration from all the pupils.
But there is another side - today we wanted to show what play time is like. It is a very small school, but my goodness they make the most of their outdoor space!
As with all the schools we support, there is fresh water from the bore hole for drinking and daily living.
Your support has helped us to develop this school, provide nutritious food for all the pupils, and support the daily costs of education. With your support these children already feel loved and valued, are gaining a good education, and most of all, have a future of opportunities ahead of them.
Help us keep this wonderful little school thriving by coming along to our next bake sale in Darnick on 27th September from 10am.

Here it is! The news so many of you have been waiting for…. yes, Sukie’s scones and coffee morning is coming back!!
Our monthly coffee mornings will be continuing from 27th September (last Saturday of the month). We will send out another reminder before then but this is for you organised and busy people to make sure you have the date on your calendar 😁
We would love to let more people know about our coffee mornings - a great place for people to meet old and new friends - so please like review and share our page, ands don’t forget our ulterior motive is to use all the money we raise to make a real difference to young lives through feeding and education.
